Today we finished up your Hindu notes and Buddhism notes !

Remember that next class period step 1 of your final project is due: ie. what project you've chosen, how you will present it, and who you will do it with (yourself/partner)

Today we wrapped up the 'Dark Ages' by watching a video! If you were absent, come talk to me about what you missed. We will be finishing up your packets next class period. We will try to wrap up the unit by Friday so we can start our final unit on Tuesday, but we might need an extra day.  We will see how it goes :)

In Class: Today was all about Sparta! We learned about the Spartan army and filled out the Spartan page in your packet (purple) You also wrote a 2-voice poem comparing and contrasting these 2 great empires.  If you were absent, come and see me and I can explain this to you

In Class: Today we learned about Athenian Democracy--- you filled out the white sheet in your packet (background of Athenian democracy) and we compared it with elements of American democracy.  If you were absent, use the powerpoint to catch up.
*We also filled out Learning Target guide (yellow) for day 2

In Class: Today we finished watching 'Prince of Egypt'; we talked about perspectives and how the Egyptians were portrayed v. the Israelites.  You worked on an essay outline, answering the question, "Was this an accurate representation of the Egyptians?"

In Class: Today we talked about what made something a civilization.... think geographic features ie. near water, mountains, temp (growing) etc.  We filled out your Ancient Sumer Notes in your packet.  If you were absent you can find the PowerPoint under the Unit 1 tab :)

In Class: Today we learned about Pre-History and what makes something a Civilization--- we filled out the 'Pre-History' section in your notes and 'Create a Civilization'.  If you were absent, you will need to use the PowerPoint to fill in your note guide :)
